As I Watched You Sleep Last Night

As I watched you sleep last night
I wondered who and what you will be
A doctor, a lawyer, a pilot in flight
The whole world awaits you expectantly
You're so full of energy, life, and love
In you I see much of your Mom up above
I also see a stranger-gentle and kind
And thank God, for such a perfect find
I know life's ladder looks dangerous and tall
But God will catch you, if you should fall
Each rung on the ladder is a mental detour
To teach and mold you as you mature
I prayed for Angels to hold you tight
As I watched you sleep last night
